Paypal dispute buyer claims item not as described. Ebay problem please help!?
I recently sold an item for $160 on Ebay. The guy (who paid late) filed a dispute with paypal claiming that the "item is not as described". The buyer told me that there are scratches all over the item, which is a lie, and that if i don't send him a partial refund of 36.99 he will escalate the dispute to a paypal claim. I tried resolving the problem with the buyer, and he only wants the partial refund.
I read PayPal's actions regarding claims, and they say that once they "CONFIRM" that the buyer has returned the item to the seller, they take the funds from the sellers' account and refund the buyer. So i'm wondering HOW paypal "confirms" that the buyer returned the item.
Do they do it through signature confirmation or what? Also, to protect myself if the buyer never returns my item and i'm charged with the withdrawel credit, should i transfer my money to my Wells' Fargo checking account before my funds are frozen and delete the my credit card info. on paypal as well as Ebay info?
I didn't list my return policy anywhere. So if I delete my credit card information on paypal and ebay, I am completely safe? thanks… I think i'll follow your advice!
Sad to say this happens. Even if he does a delivery confirmation to return it, he could just send an empty box. Protect yourself and transfer your money and take all your info off paypal. You can do this with ebay too until this blows over. I would definately check his feedback and see if this has happened before with this guy. You can also beat him to the punch and file against him with ebay for extortion. He has said he would file a claim unless you gave him money and they frown on that. If he were legit, he would have just wanted to return the item for full refund. Send ebay the email you got from him saying this.

Question about Paypal Disputes and Tracking number?
HI, I recently sold like 3 books online using paypal. I’m going to mail it out but I was wondering if I should get at tracking number just in case because that person is in New Zealnd. However I notice that I have a receipt. If that buyer is a bad person and does a paypal claim and I have a receipt, Will that be sufficient enough to win the claim as a seller?
So, Do I need a tracking number when I have a receipt?
If the buyer disputes receiving the item, your only defense is having a tracking number proving the item was delivered; if not, Paypal will rule against you, regardless of a receipt showing you paid for postage.
You learn from experience to set up your auctions to include sending the package by a method that can be tracked and, better yet, also collect/pay for insurance on the package. It makes postage more expensive, which may deter buyers, but unless you are shipping out low dollar items and willing to take the loss, you are always better off to be able to not only ship and track a package, but have it insured against damages.
How do place a paypal code and payment button onto my own website?
I cannot understand how I can transfer the payment button onto my website when my own website is not shown on screen
I guess you saw that the button is made of an HTML code (like the ones in youtube) right? You put the code in along with the other codes in your website. Buyers would then see the PP logo or your customized logo and once they click on it, your buyers will be taken to PP and log in. You have to create a button for each product so if you're selling 20 items, you have to create 20 buttons. But if it's for just a T-shirt and there are several colors and sizes, you can customize the button to provide buyers with choices by using a drop down menu. You can do it on the customize page. I think paypal still does not allow a button to be inside a frame so don't put it in one.
Is alertpay and paypal safe? I want to work online?
Is alertpay or paypal safe? I have heard a ton of horrible stories about them, specially about frozen accounts. I want to work online in the Philippines and much of the ptc sites or money making sites require either the two of them. I do not have a credit card either and I am a 16 year old student. Please help me. Thanks in advance.
I always use paypal to pay for things online and thro ebay and so far its been fine for me the money comes out my bank account so no credit card needed for this.
how do I join the PayPal Student account program?
Actually it’s your parents who set up the account for you, making you subordinate to their account.

Buyer filed paypal dispute unclaimed item- What to do?
The buyer wants a tracking number. He bought insurance so I bought insurance when I shipped it. On the insurance slip, there is no tracking number. How do I reply to the paypal claim. I have a insurance slip. What should I do with it? Should I go to my USPS and say he hasn't recieved it?
Go to usps.com and file an insurance claim if it has been at least 21 days after the date of mailing. That is done online now.
You can also take your Insured number to your local PO and have them look up the number for you. You can not see Insured information at usps.com.

Is SSL required…for Paypal Website Payments Pro with a 3rd Party Shopping Cart?
FIRST OFF….please do not just answer (YES..) or worse off answer by saying why all stores need SSL.
What i need to know is in a test environment with out having to spend the extra 99 bucks I want to make sure it works with Paypal's website payments pro…i entered in all the api user, pass and signature but it is not working and want to know DEFINITELY that it is required to work only and only when SSL is present?
Thank you so much!
Webman did exactly what i put in my paragraph explaining what I did not want to hear and already know…I am speaking integration….will this (not having ssl) cause it NOT to work?
No, SSL is NOT required in order to integrate Paypal Website Payments (Pro or otherwise).
Paypal has no such requirements since Paypal uses SSL on its side anyway. All that Paypal cares about is getting the right variables from your site. It doesn't care if there's a cart, SSL connection, one-click button or anything else, just to get the right variables.
However SSL is recommended for 2 reasons for your cart:
1. prevent 3rd party data tampering (you wouldn't like someone to snatch the data about selling 1000 items worth 30 grand and change the total price to 10 bucks before Paypal gets it, would you?)
2. Inspire confidence to your customers. Even people not so good with computers know to make purchases only when they see https in the URL box.
do i have to enter my bank account or my credit card number to receive money in paypal?
I am student and I wanted to try earning money online. I still don't have a bank account and I don't have a credit card either. I joined Paid-to-click sites and paid-surveys sites. Do I need to add a bank account information or credit card number to receive my earnings in those sites? Thanks!
If you are going to start a business, it is easiest to keep track of your income and your expenses if you start a checking account used only for your business. When tax time comes, you have your records right at hand. You can start one with the minimum required by your bank.
