So, I purchased an item the other day with paypal, but my credit card expired this month and also has a new 3 digit security code… but i forgot to update that on my paypal before i made the purchase. the status on paypal says "complete" and it took the money from my card but I did not receive the item (it was a digital purchase) …. what’s going to happen now?

PayPal may either write you and ask you to update your card, or, as they have done with me before, try to debit my PayPal balance, and if I didn’t have enough in there, it would become a negative balance, they would pay the vendor and ask me to add funds to my PayPal account to bring it current and keep my account in good standing.

Bank Account Information : " and wanting me to verify it. Since they already have my info, I’m wondering if this is normal?
I logged into PayPal using both the "http" and "https." Was going to check my account balance and got that message both times.

I can’t even get a phone number so I can phone PayPal to see if this is really legitimate. I thought maybe it was because I had a different computer but got the message even using a PC I’ve used there before.

NO you are probably not at the real paypal. You are most likely at a PHISHING site that will store your information and use it to steal your account and identity. Only go to paypal by typing in https://www.paypal.com/ in your address bar (make sure it’s https for extra security). Don’t use links unless you know 100% that they are legit.

i made a paypal account so that i can pay for a virgin mobile bill using it. i got the account, but now it is telling me that paypal isnt registered on my virgin mobile account. it is asking for credit card information, but there is none. the money should be on my paypal and be able to take it out of there straight to vmobl (i thought). what am i doing wrong? thanks

Don’t bother. Virgin Mobile is known to double/multicharge accounts repeatedly until they are completely drained in some cases. Save yourself a customer service/refund nightmare and topup only.
In fact, in general, don’t bother autopaying most prepaid companies. Boost and Straight Talk are also known to screw up. It is a B**** to get your money back because all of the burden of proof is on you. Topups ONLY.

i have a somewhat complicated question about a debt incurred on paypal so here goes,
wel about 11 or so months ago i was stupid enough to fall for a scam on the internet offering me "genuine Sony psp consoles" for below retail price about 120 US$ and being a stupid and somewhat naive 16 year old i decided to make a profit without having verified the legitimacy of the PSP’s , so i posted on ebay first it was 5psp cponsoles for 1000 dollars AUD which is damn cheap (if they were real) anyway when the person who bought them received them they immediately opened up a paypal claim as the items received were so obviously not psps it wasn’t even funny paypal refunded the buyer and instructed the buyer to destroy the items which they obviously would not have now im in debt a shitload of money and i cant even sell the MP4 players that were sent in stead of the psp systems, my question is being a 17 year old student and not having a job is there anything i can do to stop paypal sending me arrears notices through collection agencies? How can i get more time to pay it off? Being under 18 am i still required to pay?

In know it seems so obvious that i fell for a blatently obvious scam but the point is i did and just wanna fix it please please help its really stressing me out

i did not use the money after i realise they were fake but because they took over a week from the time they wer edispatched from HK and i was given a tracking number i felt safe enough to spend some of the money, luckily i did not use it all and returned all the unused money to my paypal account which luckily reduced overall debt, just so u know

You should probably post this question in YA law section instead of credit for more answers.

Minors are normally not held to contracts, they can not enter into a contract until they are 18, unless it is a life necessity.

In my opinion, assuming that you misrepresented your age and fraudulently obtained the account, then I you should be held responsible because you obviously spent the money from the items you sold, or paypal would not be claiming you owe them.

Courts will look at this situation different so it depends on your judge.

I have escaluted a dispute into a claim. The current state is "awaiting other partys response" . Their deadline is today. If the other person doesnt respond, what will happen?

Paypal will look at all the info that has been supplied and make a decision based on that,usually in your favour because the other party has not been in touch and depending on if they still have the money/item.

Long story short. I sold an iphone on ebay. I sold it to someone out of the country and on ebay I said that the buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. The buyer chose to use the cheapest First Class mail. When I dropped the box off, the post office told me that delivery confirmation nor insurance was available for First Class Mail so the box was not insured. Low and behold, someone at the post office got sticky fingers, opened the box, stole the phone, and used brown tape to tape it back up and the buyer got the box with no phone inside. Both sides have shared our story with Paypal. We are waiting on them to decide who will get their money back. Paypal took the money back out of my account and they are holding onto it pending investigation. The post office says, sorry, we can’t help you, you didn’t pay for insurance. Has anyone had a similar story like this one and what was the outcome?
The buyer sent me pictures of the box. It had different color tape on it. Thats how I know the Post Office opened it and took the phone out. You idiot. You crack me up! Ha ha ha ha

eBay requires the seller to provide insurance. Since you didn’t buy it, you are self insuring and will lose.
