How do i get my money back from something i bought though paypal?
How do i get my money back through something i bought online with paypal with my creditcard, i didnt logged inmy paypal acount to buy it but i have the receipt number though, isit possible to get my money back thorugh chargebacks or any other ways like calling them?
You have to directly contact the company you bought the product from in order to negotiate a return. Start by sending an email to the account you sent the funds to. If they agree to the return and a refund, then they will give you shipping instructions.
false Paypal claimback?
Hello,
I agreed to sell someone an item on ebay, I didnt want to use paypal due to them being abroad with few feedbacks, and they agreed to pay via bank transfer.
They clikcked bin and then pai by paypal!
I am concerned about false chargebacks and know from experience paypal themselves cannot be trusted at all.
If I transfer the paypal payment to my bank account before sending the item, what happens if the person files a flase chargeback? Can paypal get the money from my bank account?
Thanks
First, if you sell on eBay you are REQUIRED to accept PayPal (go check their Auction Terms & Conditions)
Next, when putting stuff up for Auction you can CHOOSE ‘UK only’ or ‘EU’ or ‘RoW’ or whatever … so I’m assuming here you chose to make the item available to the country where the winning bidder lives.
During the Auction, if you don’t like the bidder (for whatever reason - low feedback, foreign country whatever) you can CANCEL their Bid (& ban that bidder from bidding again) BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION ..
OK, now you have reached the Auction end, and the winner has paid by PayPal, you can REFUND their payment "with reason" (eg. "Goods Damaged prior to dispatch" or whatever) .. you are likely to loose your listing fee (and maybe even your final bid fee) …
To answer your main question, YES, PayPal WILL debit your attached Bank / Card account in order to make a refund (they have to .. otherwise fraudsters would have a field day ‘refunding’ each other and walking off with the cash)
Paypal advice please guys!?
hi just wondering if paypal charge for chargebacks to your account and how much is it.
Paypal charges a $10 chargeback fee. Also, there rates start at 2.90% + .30¢ fee if volume is under $3000/mo, and 2.50% + .30¢ 3000-10,000 volume a month. There is also a $30 monthly fee every month just to use the Paypal name. I used to use paypal but switched and got my own merchant account at www.nabsetup.com and it even works with ebay.com. Now I pay way less in fees and no monthly fee.
Can Paypal hold funds for 180 days for echeck?
Hi,
I just receive a E-Check payment for an item I sold outside of eBay. I didn’t receive the 21 day hold because it was a non ebay transaction. But as soon as the payment hit my account, I receive a limitation and I have to provide all these documents in order for the limitation to be lifted. If I provide all the documents can Paypal still say no and hold the funds for 180 days in case for chargebacks eventhough the money came directly out of the customer’s bank account. I would assume they couldn’t hold the money for chargeback for 180 days because the customer did not pay with credit card!
Yeah, I just said that the customer didn’t use a credit card so there IS NO ISSUES OF A CHARGE BACK! It was funded directly out of there bank account
HOW the person funded the payment is not the issue. The REASON for the payment is where grounds for a charge-back would arise.
USPS Package LOST, buyer demands REFUND… But can I not?
Ok… so unlike most cases, this transaction was not done over ebay but over a trading site where you normally just trade items(games, etc), however the buyer wanted something from my list but I had no interest in any of theirs, so he decided to purchase it over Paypal.
So I sent the item shortly after I received the payment via first class and after 20+ days, the buyer e-mailed me saying that he has still not received the package. From the looks, I think he is paying with a bank account on paypal, so he won’t be able to do any chargebacks…?
And the problem is, I did not provide insurance or tracking # because the buyer did not initiate it, and from my sales journal elsewhere, I state that I only purchase them if the buyer tells me they want it/them. And all I have is a receipt that I sent the package out.
And it has been around 38-40 days since he had paid me the payment… I am afraid that he will make a paypal claim and have me refund the money. But if this transaction is not done over ebay, will his claim work? I really don’t want to refund it because I’ll be losing the money plus the items I sent…
Also, if I were to remove my balance and debit card # and also closed the account, what will happen if the buyer made a dispute after that? What will happen?
@CS:
Yeah, I sent him a copy of the receipt… But he still wanted a refund…
The crucial mistake you made here is not getting delivery confirmation. It doesn’t matter if they didn’t ask for it, you should always get it. that’s your only protection if they file a claim. How do you know the person really didn’t recieve? YOU DONT! If that person files a claim, and you have no proof of DELIVERY (and paypal cares not about reciepts), they will get a full refund. Even if it’s not fair, paypal holds you responsible if the package get’s lost. It’s possible that you are dealing with a fraudulent buyer. Without confirmation, a buyer can claim Item Not Recieved and get a full refund. So you say 38-40 days? Well, that person time is almost up as you know people can only file disputes during the first 45 days. I don’t think there’s any need to delete your paypal.

Unauthorized claims have to be reported immediately.
Paypal sends a email confirmation direct to your email address every time a payment is made on your account. You should know that you did not make the transaction.
I searched paypal and found no answer besides immediate. I do know that disputes for merchandise is 45 days. If you want to try the unauthorized transaction click the link below and see if what the investigation will result in.

Is it better to take Paypal or Buyer to court?
After a buyer purchased an item from me on eBay using Buy-It-Now, the buyer made a chargeback with their credit card company. The item was sent exactly as listed but they said I didn’t include items the were not even included in my auction. Paypal doesn’t even attempt to dispute chargebacks and they take your money instantly so the only option I have to recover my money is handling the dispute on my own.
Is it better to take action directly against the buyer who still has the item and has received the funds or take action against Paypal for reversing the funds without even disputing the chargeback?
Your written agreement with Pay-Pal prohibits you from taking action against them from charge backs. You sue the person the buyer.
Is it better to take Paypal or Buyer to small claims court?

Diane A, I have read different. You can take Paypal to small claims for funds they have taken from you.
This is a problem, as to sue in small claims, you must file in the state where the plaintiff lives…so you would have to fly there to file & appear if not in the state you live. You could not take PayPal to small claims. You can file complaints with Ebay & PayPal; but probably this will just be a lost cause; sorry.
I’m paypal seller - scammed, negative balance?
Hello everyone.
I’m was selling online services. I was scammed with few large chargebacks, and my balance is about -350 GBP negative. I had a call from paypal, but I didn’t say that it’s me.
Recently I had an e-mail:
"On review of your account, we can see that you have a negative balance of
£359.56 GBP.
Please restore the outstanding balance on your PayPal account within the
next 2 business days, by calling us directly on 0208 6100150 between the
hours of 9am to 5.30 pm.
Failure to resolve the negative balance on your account will result in your
file being passed to a Debt Recovery Company which in turn may affect your
credit rating. "
I have canceled direct debit from paypal on my bank account and changed my card details.
So I got few questions:
How does they will hunt me if I won’t pay them?
What problems I may have?
What about my credit rating ?
You should have opened a dispute procedure with Paypal. You might have a case for a refund under "buyer protection". There is a time limit, though, for claims.
To try to avoid them will cause many problems for you in the future.
