Hi! I’m interested in signing up for a student paypal account. My dad agreed and we went through the signing up process but then on the next page came out a:

You’ll need to complete the following to open a Student account:
Add and confirm your bank account
Add a card to confirm your address

My dad has already connected a card to his account but do I HAVE to add a bank account to it? :S I thought a card was enough… Thank you for answering!!

you can’t put any money into the acct to spend without a bank account attached to it and if you are selling, you can’t withdraw any money without it

People that have had to call PayPal and explain that they are underage, what should I say?

I am underage and PayPal is requesting proof of my address and I.D. Obviously, I am not going to photoshop or anything because that is stupid and much worse then having an underage PayPal account with 2 transactions, both under $10.00. They requested this information when I applied for a PayPal debit card. I think it would just be better to tell them that I needed to make money but that I am underage. And then politely ask if I will be able to make a student account under my mother.

Will I be able to make a student account under my mother? What do you think I should say to the PayPal representative?

Yes… you I can apply under my mother. It is called a Student Account. But after I explain about being underage, I wanted to know if they will still let me do it.

My dear, once you say you are underage, your account will be frozen by one of the resolutions agents. If it happens, I suggest you wait until you are of legal age to submit documents to unfreeze your account. Paypal deals with money and just to be safe, let us follow the terms and conditions to avoid problems.

If i create an ebay account can i link it with a paypal student account and buy and sell on ebay with the student account?
I know regular accounts can, and theres differences between regular and student accounts so i dont know if student accounts have the ability to buy/sell on ebay.

Yes, especially because e-bay owns pay-pal (they created it for that purpose).

I am still a student but I want to be an online writer which need me to have a paypal account. So do i need to have credit card for that? I am still a student so I don’t have any credit card. Help me.

Not sure what you mean exactly, however, if you open a Student account with St George Bank, you can have an account that does not have any fees. In addition, you can have a visa debit card, that will allow you to use the card like a credit card, but you will need to have funds in your account to cover the transaction. Also the account can be linked to a paypal account for you to purchase online.

I don’t have a credit card. I just use my parent’s PayPal account. And I don’t plan on converting my earnings to cash. I just want to use it for shopping online.
But adsense says that I should be 18 to participate.

Well,you don’t need a bank account if you want to buy online there are a lot of Visa Gift Cards or just some Cards form other company that offer you the way to charge a card with money every day when ever you want. You should find this cards at a computer store or at the bank.
